The University of
Haifa conferred Onno Boxma (1952) in June 2009 an
honorary doctorate. Onno Boxma is full professor in Stochastic
Operations research at the Department of Mathematics
and Computer Science, TU/e and scientific director
of EURANDOM.
His main research area is queueing theory; he and
his group keep an open eye on its applications to
the performance analysis of these
theories in production, computer and communication
networks.
Onno Boxma is editor-in-chief of "Queueing
Systems". Recently he was appointed as honorary professor at the
Department of Mathematical Sciences of Heriot-Watt
