Workshop: “Recent Developments in Stochastic Duality”
Dec 12, 2022 - Dec 16, 2022
Summary
Duality is a key technique in Markov process theory, with applications in interacting particle systems, non-equilibrium statistical physics, and stochastic population dynamics. In recent years several new developments in the theory of duality have taken place, with applications in the above three areas. Examples include the Lie-algebraic approach to duality, the use of duality for integrable systems, random processes on random graphs, and population dynamics with seed-banks.
In the workshop we aim to bring together experts in these areas, with the goal to exchange ideas and formulate new research challenges. We plan to focus both on fundamental aspects of duality – such as the algebraic approach and the path-wise approach – and on applications in non-equilibrium behaviour, hydrodynamic limits, complex networks, and multi-type genetic populations.
