The analysis of data with both spatial and temporal components gives rise to unique methodological and modelling challenges. Driven by applications, different approaches to these challenges have been developed in the mathematical community within several subfields. These include functional data analysis, time series modelling, spatial point processes, sequential testing procedures, among others. The YES 2027 meeting on Spatio-Temporal Statistics brings together international experts to deliver invited lectures on a broad range of topics in the modeling and analysis of spatio-temporal data.

The meeting has two primary objectives. The first is to promote scientific exchange and collaboration across closely related but complementary areas of statistical research. The second is to provide young researchers with a comprehensive introduction to the field through an overview of topics, complemented by in-depth technical presentations that illustrate current methodological developments and open research challenges.

The conference will run from 24 February (09:30) until 26 February (16:30). The scientific programme includes invited talks, contributed presentations by early-career researchers, and poster sessions. Participants are also invited to attend the conference dinner on 25 February,

Contributed talks by Early-Career Researchers

We warmly encourage early-career researchers to actively contribute to the scientific programme. To support this, the conference offers six contributed talk slots of 25 minutes each.

If you would like to give a contributed talk, please indicate this on the registration form and submit a title and abstract (maximum two A4 pages) to EURANDOM (eurandom.office@tue.nl) by 1 December 2026.

Poster session

Poster sessions will be organized throughout the conference, providing an opportunity to present research results and discuss open problems with participants.

If you would like to present a poster, please indicate this on the registration form and provide a provisional title. A poster abstract (max 300 words) is not required at the time of registration but should be submitted to EURANDOM (eurandom.office@tue.nl) no later than 14 days before the start of the conference.

Travel grants for early career researchers

To encourage participation by early career researchers, we hope to be able to offer a limited number of travel grants to help cover travel, accommodation, and/or registration costs. If such support would be helpful, you are invited to contact the organizers (via eurandom.office@tue.nl) with a brief motivation, a clear indication of your career stage, and your CV. If funding becomes available, support will be limited to a maximum of €500 per person. Priority will be given to early career researchers presenting a contributed talk or poster. The deadline for applying for a travel grant is 1 December 2026. Applicants will be informed by 18 December 2026 whether financial support can be awarded.

Registration

Registration will open September 16th, 2026. Coffee / tea and lunch are included in the registration fee.

After registering, you will immediately receive an automatic confirmation of your registration (check your spam folder!). Your proof of payment will be sent separately, in the week following the workshop.

Registration is possible until February 10, 2027 or when the maximum number of participants has been reached.
