PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Conference Location

the workshop location is EURANDOM,  Den Dolech 2, 5612 AZ Eindhoven, Laplace Building, 1st floor, LG 1.105.

EURANDOM is located on the campus of Eindhoven University of Technology, in the 'Laplacegebouw' building' (LG on the map).  The university is located at 10 minutes walking distance from Eindhoven railway station (take the exit north side and walk towards the tall building on the right with the sign TU/e).

Travel

For those arriving by plane, there is a convenient train connection between Amsterdam Schiphol airport and Eindhoven.. This trip will take about an hour and a half. For more detailed information, please consult the NS travel information pages or EURANDOM web page location. 

Many low cost carriers also fly to Eindhoven Airport. There is a bus connection from Eindhoven airport to Eindhoven central railway station. (bus route number 401). For details on departure times consult http://www.9292ov.nl 

The University can be reached easily by car from the highways leading to Eindhoven (for details, see our route descriptions or consult our map with highway connections

If you plan to come by car note that vehicle access to the TU/e campus will be controlled by barriers. For detailed information consult "parking on the TU/e campus"

Hotel

EURANDOM made preliminary group reservations in

Hotel Queen, Markt 7, Eindhoven. Special price single room 80  euro, double room 95 euro, incl. breakfast. Tourist tax: 3,50 euro.

If you want EURANDOM to make a reservation, indicate the requested nights at the registration page.

Lunches/dinner

June 19 & 20 lunches are being organised; free of costs for all participants, if ordered on the registration form.

On Monday evening June 19, there will be a workshop dinner. For non-invitees an amount of 30 euro is requested, to be paid at arrival in cash (preferably exact amount in euros)

Computers

Participants of the workshop have free access to several notebooks with Internet, Telnet and print facilities. They are available in the EURANDOM library.

There is a possibility to use the TU/e wireless internet (WiFi).
Please read the following instructions in case you plan to work with WiFi on your personal notebook.

Depending on the hardware (WiFi internet card) on your computer and what facilities you want to use, you might need to configure your wireless adapter.  

Sometimes your card will automatically detect the WiFi system.

 EXCEPTIONS:
-if you have an Apple / Macintosh laptop; you have to be able to find and give your hardware address yourself, otherwise we are not able to help you.
-if you use Windows 2000 or an older version; connection to the network is not possible. You definitely need Windows XP, service pack 2.
