The aim of this four days bilateral conference is to discuss recent developments at the
interface between probability theory and the life sciences. Probabilistic models are instrumental in the understanding and mathematical description of many biological processes.
In this workshop we aim at highlighting specifically the following themes: Stochastic models
of population dynamics; Quantitative developmental biology; Stochastic models in neuro-science, with the participation of related main speakers, colleagues, doctoral and postdoctoral students. These topics have been the subject of intense research in France and the Netherlands in recent years, and the presentations will be given by world-renowned specialists mostly based there or from Germany.
