Warehouses are essential to the performance of today’s supply-chains. The analysis and optimization of warehouse performance is important to reduce the experienced delay of customers, especially considering the growth in demand fueled by e-commerce. During this three-day workshop various leading experts and young researchers will present their research on the evaluation and optimization of warehouses, using methods, e.g., from combinatorial optimization, queueing theory and machine learning. We plan to discuss both mathematical modeling and analysis, as well as the practical aspect of warehousing design.
The event includes:
- a tutorial by: René de Koster (Erasmus University),
- keynote talks by: Nils Boysen (Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena), Kees-Jan Roodbergen (University of Groningen) and Debjit Roy (Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad).
Contributed talks on the following topics will be considered for admission:
-Order picking
-Warehouse design
-Warehouse automation
Organisers: (all Eindhoven University of Technology):
Jacques Resing – Mathematics & Computer Science
Tim Engels – Mathematics & Computer Science
Ivo Adan – Industrial Engineering
Programme, abstracts and ‘how to register’ will be published soon.
